LONGINES FEI Jumping World Cup™ Washington President’s Cup Grand Prix – Victory for Katherine A. Dinan (USA)

There were seven riders in the jump-off who fought for victory in this $450,000 Grand Prix. Alise Oken (USA) opened the decider with Gelvera with a zero-fault ride in 36.81 seconds. Second starter in the jump-off was Rene Dittmer with Corsica X. He had already won two competitions on Friday ($40,000 Accumulator Costume Class and $78,000 Welcome Stake). With his error-free lap in 34.40 seconds, he now also took the lead in the LONGINES FEI Jumping World Cup™ Washington President’s Cup Grand Prix. But five other riders were still waiting for their chance. Devin Ryan (USA) with Eddie Blue came very close to Rene Dittmer after a very courageous ride with 34.74 seconds, but was unable to dislodge him from the top position.

Darragh Kenny (IRL) with Irwin and the Australian Rowan Willis also couldn’t threaten the leader. The 65-year-old Margie Goldstein-Engle (USA) showed the enthusiastic audience an impressive performance as always, tried everything, but had a fault with Dicas and was also significantly slower at 37.21 seconds.

The decision was made with the last starter, Katherine A. Dinan from the USA. With the 17-year-old gelding Brego R‘ n B, she rode with a lot of courage, extreme speed and a bit of luck to victory in the $450,000 LONGINES FEI Jumping World Cup™ Washington President’s Cup Grand Prix in 33.50 seconds.
